# Martius (testnet)

Martius is Rome's public testnet chain. It's an EVM chain executing inside a Solana program and settling on Solana Devnet — a stable target for deploying and testing apps.

## Add to MetaMask

Enter the values above manually (Settings → Networks → Add network).

## Fund a wallet

1. Get devnet SOL from the [Solana faucet](https://faucet.solana.com/) (set your Solana wallet to Devnet).
2. Obtain gas via the [Rome App](https://app.testnet.romeprotocol.xyz) — wrap or bridge into the chain's gas token.

If a Solana-side transaction fails with an "insufficient SOL" warning despite a funded wallet, set your Solana wallet to Testnet Mode / Devnet (see the [FAQ](/resources/faq.md)).
