What is Rome

Rome modularizes Solana consensus into a set of enshrined services so L2s can be as fast and decentralized as Solana

1. Rome EVM

Rome EVM enables deploying any EVM Dapp on Solana with SPL and ERC20 token interoperability.

It provides users with the ability to do EVM transactions on Solana and offers a familiar, easy-to-use execution environment using OP Geth.

2. Shared Sequencer

Rome Shared Sequencer enables L2s to be as fast and decentralized as Solana.

It has four key components: Rhea, Hercules, a rollup smart contract on Solana, and an Ethereum client such as OP Geth. These components leverage Solana, which provides fast confirmation of transactions, high throughput, low cost, and guarantees immutable ordering of transactions, backed by the entire Solana stake.

3. Rome Interop

Rome Interop enables ETH ecosystem transactions to be atomically composable with Solana transactions. It consists of Rome SDK, Rome Light Client, and Fast Finality Layer.

Rome SDK enables developers, searchers, and ecosystem builders to compose atomic cross-rollup transactions, and atomic cross-chain transactions across Solana and rollups.

4. Rome DA

Rome DA provides a high throughput DA to L2s with Solana's security.
